Celebrating Ramadan

Body Art: Henna
Previously we ventured to Abu Dhabi Mall just to see another mall. Let it be known there are over 50 malls, centers and souks located in the city! We just so happened to stop at a Konad Nail Kiosk and I noticed the lady had henna on her arm. Swooned, we all inquired about where she got it done and how much it cost? "Free, free! It's Ramadan, they do for you after 8 pm. In the tent!" Seeing as how it was 2:30 in the afternoon, we were hot and couldn't eat or drink in public, we just decided to come back another day before Ramadan was over!

The city comes alive at night! The malls are packed, the streets are overpopulated and the natives are in full effect. We were lucky to show up as soon as it opened. But as you can see there was a line that quickly formed as we walked towards the tent! Ma'Alesha...it didn't (doesn't) matter! In total, we spent about an hour waiting on each other. The service was completely free as it was apart of the mall's celebration of Ramadan.

Although she had a book of artwork..I told her to do a freehand design...it felt more authentic

She was dressed in the native attire

The other 3 girls got the same design, althought the artist did make them slightly different

The Henna came prepackaged in a squeezable tube. A similar package was 5AED (!.50) at the mall .
All of us together!
